Podcast Review: Radio Clash Mash Up Podcast

Radio Clash Podcast
This nice little podcast from the British Isles is a music based show featuring mixes and covers from independent and unsigned artist from around the world. Our presenter Tim hails from London and seems to have an extensive knowledge of music and the underground music scene not only in London but all over the world. Tim gives us news of upcoming gigs and releases of the tunes he spins. This knowledge allows him to give us the gossip and backround on a given tune and helps make this podcast a quality show.

To say his choices are eclectic would be an understatement, you will hear the most weird and wonderful choices of music you’ll ever find but his choices are very listenable. Well mostly they are enjoyable, you will find the odd track that’s going to annoy the hell out of you but that’s the price you pay for a show that’s not afraid to be different and is the point of the ‘cast. Tim presents the show with his natural unassuming personality which is quite “John Peel-like” in character, giving you a rye view on the songs history and any stories surrounding it and then moves on to the next track. All in all - the whole show ticks along nicely.

It’s shows like this that make podcasting such a great medium, Tim has probably been doing this sort thing for years but never had an outlet to reach a wider audience and now we have the pleasure of listening to his show and people like him. A prodigious talent is he and worthy of taking on the mantle of the likes of John Peel and hopefully someone will give the backing to do it full time and become a respected muso/journo in the process.

A very good music podcast, one to put at the top of your list to checkout, this weekly show has already reached episode number 67 and is clearly a labor of love for Tim, all the best shows usually are. John Peel reborn.

Can ‘t seem to find an iTunes feed.*

* Editor’s Note - Tim has informed us about the iTunes problem: “…reason for no iTunes feed is that they won’t let me into their directory, I signed up over a year ago and wasn’t allowed in. I either offend their copyright sensibilities or they don’t like the show.”
